Known for its joyful song, the chaffinch is the neighbor to Finns who are greeted with joy, but who are not to be seen up close. Our chaffinch excursion provides the best opportunity for this.
On our spring chaffinch excursion, you have the opportunity to observe, listen to, see, and photograph chaffinch birds and get to know them up close under the guidance of an experienced nature guide.
Experience a day of adventure for the whole family, migratory birds, and nature awakening to growth. We will take a day-long birding excursion to Hietasaari in Oulu, which is Oulu’s bird paradise and home to dozens of chaffinch birds.
The excursion includes nature guidance, a nature photography course, and light snacks. Bring binoculars, a system camera or a mobile camera, you can also enjoy with just your own eyes and ears, warm clothing, and snacks according to your needs, it is possible to stop by the campfire during the trip.

The trip takes 3 hours, a walk of about 5 kilometers
Meeting at Villa Hanna, Kahvelitie 1, 90500 Oulu GOOGLE MAPS, which is easily accessible by bus no. 15 and 18, by your own car, by bike or even on foot. From there we leave for the Hietasaari parks. The trip is open to everyone interested in local nature, if necessary, we can walk on an accessible route and adapt the trip to the participants.
